IN CELEBRATION OF
THE RETURN OF LIGHT

HAPPY SPRING! Oh yeah baby, it's here, morning without the prison grey sky, sunset not at noon. Hell yes! Which means you can sit on this old porch, watch the little Birdie flutter about the yard and enjoy just how absolutely Preposterous Ruby Leigh and Stella Mae are.

2013 followed 2012 (everybody's favorite vintage) and delivered like 2006 did behind 2005. Stupendously huge wines, with backbone and length that might just outshine 2012. The Rhônes have flown, so now it is time to release the first of the Bordeaux varietal driven blends. Malbec from Klipsun so silky you could make pajamas out of it. Our girls' wines have never been better: as we have expanded our vineyard sources, it gives us more cream to skim off the top. Oh baby. And here for you now is the first glimpse of 2015: bone dry Birdie riesling, chock a block with rich fruit sumptuosity, gently veiled in a mineral halo. And to polish all that off, how about a little rosé? This year's this old porch is silly good, Provence pink and dry as a hot summer sidewalk. Git ye some, ya'll.

2013 Stella Mae

Stella Mae, in its 10th incarnation as a wine, and 12th year as a human, is special for its purity, complexity and loveliness (among other things that no teenage boy is going to get to know about anytime soon, by God). Bing cherries, cedar, graphite, sweet vanilla bean, and savory herbes de Provence are all part of the story...

2013 Ruby Leigh

Hard to believe this is the 10th anniversary of Ruby Leigh the wine, and that its namesake is 10 years old. Graceful, powerful, exhilarating, entertaining, surprising, complete. And the wine is that way too, with a heart of merlot, the violets of cabernet franc, cabernet sauvignon and its black cherry and silky blueberry from malbec...

2014 Preposterous

Preposterously deep, rich malbec from our most special block at Klipsun Vineyard on Red Mountain, it’s almost embarrassing how intense this wine is. And this is an American wine: immediately gratifying, big, bold, and ever so slightly unconcerned about historical context...

2015 Birdie

Birdie, the world champion of the Wine Enthusiast wine scoring Riesling world is dry, yet fruity, minerally, yet deeply textured, and is loaded with aromas of apple, peach and Asian pear, honeysuckle and cardamom. You just might experience the flavors of Bosc pear, Fuji apple...
