Today we are delighted to introduce the 2007 Alexander Valley Syrah! Fewer than 70 cases were produced of this exceptional vintage, which received a Silver Medal at the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition. Blackberry and black currant dominate on the palate, with a touch of clove spice and hints of chocolate on the finish. Two years of aging have relaxed the tannins, resulting in a very smooth, silky texture. Michael's favorite food pairing for this vintage is grilled lamb, but this Syrah is an excellent accompaniment to any grilled red meats, portobello mushrooms and the flavors of fall.
