2011 Poet's Leap Riesling | 2009 Poet's Leap Ice Wine | 2010 Poet's Leap Botrytis Riesling
Expressive aromatics of white peach, sweet jasmine flowers and a hint of flint introduce this vibrant, fresh wine. With its bright acidity, the 2011 Poet's Leap Riesling dances on the palate and continues across a lively finish, enhanced by a persistent undercurrent of minerality.

An explosive bouquet offers an impressive intensity of quince paste and hints of toffee. Highly concentrated with an uncommon viscosity that remains lively on the palate thanks to a vibrant acidity. Delicious salted caramel and ripe pineapple persist across a long, lengthy finish. Intense, ripe apricot and honey aromas and flavors intermingle with a hint of orange peel that lingers on the palate. A deep, concentrated wine with balanced acidity that creates a rich vibrancy stretching across an extended finish.

"This Poet's Leap is a pretty wine, vibrant, and full across the palate, with a mix of apple and peach flavors. Clean and balanced, it adds nuances of tea and finally a hint of honey in the extended finish."

About Ice Wine:
Ice wine is a seldom offered gift of nature that requires a hard freeze to occur, often several months after the normal harvest. When these rare and desirable conditions occur, it results in a richly concentrated wine, high in sugar and acid, with extraordinary intensity and extended ageability.

About Botrytis:
It is only possible to produce botrytised wines under specific conditions. Alternating periods of dampness and dryness must occur for the Noble Rot (Botrytis Cinerea) to truly take hold. The mold shrivels the grapes, concentrating the sugars, acids and flavors. From this, very little juice flows. What results is a deliciously honeyed golden nectar of unparalleled complexity that can be aged for decades.

Winemaker's Note
"This is definitely the most 'German' style of all Poet's Leap vintages we've made so far. The chemistry and weather pattern during the 2011 growing season created a Riesling with great intensity of flavors that I'm looking forward to enjoying myself"
Armin Diel, Winemaker

We are proud to share these representations of Riesling with you and hope you'll enjoy the opportunity to discover this complex and special grape. As always, thank you for your continued support.
