"Excellent bright ruby-red. Deep aromas of black currant, licorice, spices and leather. Suave on entry, then primary, deep and sweet, with a penetrating quality to the rich dark berry, spice and mint flavors. This one has a tightly coiled spring and underlying minerality that suggest it will be long-lived. Finishes clenched in a positive way, with a rising finish and broad, integrated tannins."

"As in past vintages, the style of the 2008 Chester-Kidder is based on blending Cabernet Sauvignon for structure with the dark and spicy notes we get from Syrah. Because we're able to select grapes from a few top vineyards from different AVAs in the Columbia Valley, the result is a very complete, balanced wine. I'm really excited about what this 7th edition of Chester-Kidder has to offer - a very dense and viscous texture with a deep, dark color that shows vibrant notes of cassis and a surprising liveliness on the finish." |

Dear Friend,
We are delighted to offer you the opportunity to purchase an allocation of our 2008 Chester-Kidder Red Wine. This new, limited release is the embodiment of Allen Shoup's vision to create a wine that showcases the viticultural excellence of Washington state's Columbia Valley.
Gilles Nicault, Long Shadows Vintners' head winemaker and Director of Viticulture, was selected to bring this vision to fruition, and he has delivered with every vintage since the inaugural Chester-Kidder release in 2002. Inky in color with a multi-layered richness, the 2008 Chester-Kidder is a blend of 61% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Syrah, 6% Petit Verdot and 4% Cabernet Franc offering exquisite dark cherry and chocolate aromas with intense flavors of ripe blackberry.
Through May 31st, enjoy complimentary ground shipping on purchases of 6 or more bottles of 2008 Chester-Kidder.
About Gilles Nicault
Working with some of the best vineyards in the Columbia Valley, French-born winemaker Gilles Nicault draws on his considerable experience in Washington state to craft Chester-Kidder, a layered red wine styled for complexity and richness. Gilles’ winemaking journey began at the University of Avignon, where he studied Viticulture and Enology before honing his craft throughout Cote Du Rhone, Provence and Champagne. Reports of outstanding grapes from the eastern slopes of Washington state lured Gilles to Walla Walla, where he joined our community of enologists and winemakers. He served as head of Enology and Production at Woodward Canyon before joining the Long Shadows team, where he works alongside some of the world’s greatest winemakers to perfect his signature work with Chester-Kidder.
We are honored to bring this wonderful expression of Washington terroir to our valued Private Cellar members through this exclusive offer. Enjoy!
As always, thank you for your continued support.
Cheers,
