Rosé! As you read this, we’ve had our first few warm days of Spring and all of us, including the vines, are ready for the 2013 season to begin. With that in mind, there is no better time to announce the release of our 2012 Edition Rosé, made entirely from estate grown Pinot Noir. Bright and lively, this year’s edition surprised us with an even fresher feeling than previous vintages. Aromas of strawberry and apricot blend with hints of spice, leading into bright citrus flavors and a vibrant finish. Nothing will help us welcome the arrival of warmer days better than the 2012 Edition Rosé. With only 287 cases, less than half of what we made in 2011, the 2012 Edition Rosé won’t last long.

2012 was an exciting growing season and we’re thrilled with how delicious the wines already are. The signature for the year was the extended dry period leading up to harvest and the overall warmth of the season. In contrast to the cooler 2010 and 2011 vintages, 2012 delivered gorgeous, ripe fruit, with wonderfully intense flavors. Each year we handpick our Estate Pinot Noir in the early morning hours. These clusters are hand-sorted, destemmed and moved via gravity into tank. After 6 to 12 hours, the ideal color is reached and we saignée some of the juice from our favorite tanks. Fermentation starts naturally with wild yeast and the wine is kept at a cooler temperature, allowing the aromatics and fruit flavors to develop.
