A stile is a wooden structure resembling a stepladder used to provide passage over a wall. Prime vineyard sites are often enclosed by walls to visually highlight their superior quality. The wine is fashioned to fit in between our Napa Valley Cabernet and our flagship Howell Mountain wine. Its price and quality are unparalleled for an appellation designated wine as it clearly maintains the identity of our Howell Mountain Appellation. Unmistakably Howell Mountain, the 2010 Ladera Stile Blocks Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon illustrates a unique aspect of our vineyard with a sense of place. Deep intense aromas fill the glass with notes of fresh violet, black/blueberry, cocoa and sweet cinnamon spice. The opulent palate is soft and concentrated with ripe black fruits and fine integrated tannins that provide for a long flavorful finish. Our 82 acre vineyard is divided into forty-three separate blocks according to the style, character and quality of each area. The Stile Blocks Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon is drawn from vineyard blocks individually selected for their distinct flavor profile, yielding an intense, rich, and voluptuous hillside Cabernet.
