“Washington is the only place outside of Napa that I make wine, and each year I'm impressed with the quality of Cabernet grapes being produced in the Columbia Valley. The diversity and unique terroir of top sites like The Benches, Stone Tree and Sagemoor Vineyards allow me to craft a vibrant and layered wine with silky, yet firm, tannin structure.”

Dear %%FIRST%%,
Here in Walla Walla, harvest is in full swing and it's shaping up to be another stellar vintage! As we celebrate the season's bounty, we are excited to announce the release of our highly-acclaimed 2010 Feather Cabernet Sauvignon. Awarded 94 points by both Wine Advocate and Wine Enthusiast, this is our highest scoring vintage of Feather yet! We are pleased to offer you the opportunity to reserve your pre-release allocation and encourage you to act now. Like the 2010 Pedestal and 2010 Pirouette, we anticipate this wine to sell out quickly.
"Loaded with sweet black raspberry jam, creme de cassis, charred toast and crushed flower-like nuances that flow to a full-bodied, voluptuously textured Cabernet that builds in tannin and depth with air. Gorgeously pure and seamless, it will evolve gracefully for 12-15 years." -Wine Advocate, 94 points.

Randy Dunn is one of the world's most renowned makers of extraordinary Cabernet Sauvignons. Randy established his reputation at Caymus Winery from 1975 to 1985, where his Cabernet Sauvignons became the benchmark for the industry. Randy then started Dunn Vineyards on Howell Mountain where he continues to craft distinctive wines of high acclaim. He brings more than four decades of winemaking experience to the Columbia Valley to produce Feather, his only wine made outside of California.
Randy selected grapes from his preferred vineyard sites of the Columbia Valley. He chose Dionysus Vineyard Cabernet for its dark, bright fruit character; Weinbau Cabernet to give the wines its structure and a textured mouth feel; 40-year-old vines from Sagemoor and Bacchus vineyards to build layers of complexity and a hint of minerality and earthiness; and Stone Tree Vineyard Cabernet to add dark fruit flavors and richness across the mid-palate. In 2010, a cool spring delayed flowering and reduced fruit set, then temperatures remained moderate throughout the summer. Randy worked with growers to drop grape clusters and open up the canopies early in the season so that the vines were well-positioned to finish off ripening when the warmer weather arrived, yielding beautifully concentrated fruit.
Enjoy! And as always, we appreciate the opportunity to share our Long Shadows wines with you.
Cheers,
