Vintage 13 is in the bag, as it sure is freezing outside. This harvest was one that had length of a football field and fruit yield the size of a lineman. Quality was epic as concentration always is greatest in drought years due the vines thinking this will be their last year alive. This was the first harvest in memory that we selectively picked vineyard blocks at different times due to uneven ripening, but allowed Rosenblum to get the perfect ripeness. This was also one of the longest harvests in memory spanning from Mid-August to end of October. As all harvests go, this one was so uneventful that it could be classified as boring. When I say uneventful I mean no bad weather or other issues creating a difficult harvest. As we barrel down Vintage 13 and look to spring bottling of the V12 wines, the cycle of winemaking continues.
