HARVEST UPDATE FROM MATTHEW GLYNN
Winemaker Matthew Glynn is hyper-alert this month, waiting for vineyards to hit the last phase of maturity so he can signal for Harvest to begin. Aside from the seasonal nervousness common to winemakers, Matthew has been genuinely pleased with the 2012 weather. "Temperatures have been moderate and consistent, in the eighties and low nineties, " he says. "This is optimal for grape development. In addition, our yields are showing close to a natural balance in many estate and grower vineyards, a goal of premium grape growing."
VISITING THE WINERY IN FALL
OUR TEAMS WORK TOWARD HARVEST ALL YEAR
Being a fairly small winery makes Acacia an excellent spot to visit during crush season. Unlike bigger operations, we center our activity right here at the winery, where visitors can appreciate a fine view of all the action. Come early in the day and you can see grapes being picked by hand in the estate vineyards and tractors arriving at the winery with their big loads of ripe grapes.
DI ROSA TOUR & LUNCH
Saturday, October 6 from 9:30am-1:00pm
Here's another reason to mark your calendar in red and put on your red shoes for fun: A two-hour tour of the madly quixotic Rene di Rosa Art Preserve, our cultural jewel next door in Carneros, followed by luncheon at the winery paired with our award-winning wines.
With more than 200 extraordinary acres of vineyard, gardens, and natural landscape situated just a stone's throw from our back door, the brilliant California art collection of Rene and Veronica di Rosa was the vision and work of two devoted, unconventional individuals who shared a passion for art and adventurous spirits that fueled their support for art and artists.
We'll journey there to be astounded by the energy and imagination of the eclectic art collection, then return to Acacia for lunch paired with some terrific wines.

Joey Altman is one of our favorite chefs for his imaginative cuisine and fun-loving personality. We love the way his dishes pair with Acacia wines and were thrilled to have him at the winery demonstrating this dish in June. We look forward to more opportunities to introduce him to you - and oh yes, we look forward to his next lunch! Stay tuned for future appearances.
