Russian River Pinot Noir is back!!!
The 2009 Russian River Pinot Noir was an absolute staff favorite, we didn’t make a Russian River Pinot in 2010, so the 2011 vintage has been highly anticipated and alas...the wait is over. This lovely wine is a classic Russian River Valley Pinot Noir—silky and flavorful of dark, ripe fruits, and delicately textured. Carefully selected vineyards were chosen for this special boutique bottling. The Russian River Valley AVA is located in the heart of Sonoma County, just north of San Francisco. The seasonal fog and cool weather create a long growing season and ideal conditions for cool climate-loving grape varieties, particulary Pinot Noir. The end results in wines with outstanding depth and richness with bright acidity. Only 250 cases of the 2011 Russian River Pinot were made. Winemaker Matthew Glynn began making Orogeny wines at Acacia Vineyard in 2008. We are proud to share with Orogeny an outstanding winemaking team, artisan cellar, and online shop where guests enjoy access to both of these award winning wine labels. The 2011 Orogeny Russian River Chardonnay is perfumed with tropical aromas of mango, pineapple guava and citrus blossom. The nose leads to rich, opulent flavors layered with mango, yellow peach and Meyer lemon. Retail $35 Club Price $28. The 2008 Orogeny Redding Ranch Pinot Noir is complex with Queen Anne cherry and red raspberry notes highlight the bright, fruity aromas, while on the palate, darker fruit flavors of wild blackberry and huckleberry emerge.
