2009 Rockpile Zinfandel A wine loaded with bold mountain character, our 2009 Rockpile Road Zinfandel, captures the unique microclimate of the Rockpile American Viticultural Area (AVA). Plum and cherry aromas open the nose, cradled by warm molasses and caramel notes. Black fruit leads the big, full palate, accentuated by a pop of boysenberry and red currants on the finish. Substantial, mouthfilling tannins structure the finish and hold the flavors into a long, lingering finale. 2010 Winemaker Selection A bold blend of Rockpile Vineyard Zinfandel and Calistoga grown Petite Sirah our 2010 Winemaker's Selection is distinctly Rosenblum. Starting with aromas of deep berry and cocoa then flowing over the palate to a smooth finish with light tannins and hint of leather. The inky Petite Sirah lends tannins and body to the front end without overpowering the juicy black cherry and prune notes of the Zinfandel. The bold flavors and full body will pair well with roasted meats, lamb chops, or a grilled rib eye with red wine demi glace (maybe even one made with the Winemaker’s Selection).
