Staff profile: Meet our own Kenny G Kenny Goodman, or as most of you know him, Kenny G, has been imparting style and schlepping wine in the Rosenblum Cellars tasting room since 2005. Originally from Scarsdale, New York, he found the cold winters of the northeast weren’t for him. During college, he visited Florida one spring break and decided to stay behind when his friends headed back home. In 1978 Kenny left Florida for the Bay Area, eventually falling into the wine industry in 2002 after becoming a “professional guest” at a well-known Napa bubbly house. When Kenny isn’t sharing his passion for wine with our guests, he can often be found moonlighting at a local Chinese restaurant. Come by Rosenblum Cellars, Fridays through Tuesdays, and experience the Kenny G style for yourself—you will not be disappointed. One of Kenny’s current favorites is our Kontrabecki Vineyard Zinfandel from Livermore Valley. This wine exhibits a big, warm-climate style, packed with plump fruit and supple approachability. Soft floral and sage notes dance lightly over abundant red fruits, followed by ripe cherries, dried cranberries and plums on the palate. Toward the finish, the wine brightens as fine acids and well-integrated tannins combine to balance the rich fruits and lend structure. The finale is impressive, with great length and finesse. Take Kenny G’s advice and pair this versatile Zinfandel with dishes ranging from pulled pork sandwiches to steak au poivre. Saturday, March 9th—Customer Appreciation Party at Rosenblum!
