Fresh off the Winepress!
2009 Merlot. Discover our new 2009 Reserve Merlot, one of the first vintages created in our new state-of-the-art Reserve Winery! This intense, supple wine delivers an incredible depth of dark fruit and richness. Aromas of Italian plum, cherry jam, bramble, and butterscotch begin the intrigue. Chewy tannins give the fruit footing as it delves into a lovely, satisfying finish. Try roasted duck or hearty risotto with this smooth and flavorful wine. Experience it for yourself today!
2012 Malvasia. Our Malvasia Bianca is back with the new 2012 vintage! This highly sought-after wine is found nowhere else outside the winery. Malvasia Bianca is a semi-sweet, refreshing Greek grape varietal which pairs beautifully with spicy Asian and Mexican style dishes. With notes of orange blossom and honeysuckle on the nose, peach and tangerine across the palate, and invigorating acidity on the finish, the 2012 Malvasia Bianca is the perfect complement to sunny spring days on the patio.
2012 Pinot Gris. Relax in the sun with the refreshing 2012 Pinot Gris! It adeptly balances ripe white tree-fruits with vibrant acidity and sprightliness. The nose opens with expressive aromas of white peach and Bartlett pear joined by wafts of orange blossom, lemon peel and river rock and a touch of allspice. The entry is supple and smooth, leading with ripe, succulent stone fruit and then picking up a tantalizing brightness of grapefruit, citrus and chalky mineral notes on the finish. This wine is a perfect companion for summer picnics or seafood cookouts.

Bud-Breaking News from Assistant Winemaker John Hazak!
With almost all of the aromatic white wines in bottle at this point, much of my attention has shifted to coaxing the last of the Chardonnay barrel lots through completion of Malolactic Fermentation. While most have finished MLF, there are always a few that struggle each year to complete this palate-softening process that stabilizes the wine, and forms the base for a more silky, viscous texture that Napa Valley Chardonnay is known for. The palate weight and creaminess will continue to develop over the coming few months with period barrel stirring to help yeast breakdown and lees integration.
In the vineyards, bud break is just now kicking off the 2013 growing season, with about 5-6" of growth in some of the more advanced areas, like Carneros Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. So far, most of the early winter rainwater has been exhausted. If I had to guess, we may be looking at a smaller than average, or average, crop level. Smaller than average crop loads tend to lead to high quality, so we’ll keep our fingers crossed!
Thanks for listening,
John

Make April Amazing with our Magnum of the Month!
Seriously complex and well structured, our 2005 Three Palms Vineyard Merlot comes from vines that struggle in the rocky, volcanic soils. The opulent black cherry and mineral flavors, layered with mocha, spice and toasty oak, give remarkable weight on the palate, and then linger on the expansive finish. With tannins that combine power with suppleness, this wine already delivers luscious, complex flavors, yet promises excellent aging potential. Enjoy with braised lamb shanks or chocolate truffles! Bring these marvelous magnums home today for just $89.00!
