Happy Birthday to our Associate Winemaker: Alison Crary!
Meet our ever-inquisitive, globe-trotting assistant winemaker, Alison Crary! With a world-renowned wine education from Geisenheim University in Germany, Alison’s thirst for knowledge – not to mention wine – has led her on an amazing journey. Having visited over 30 wine regions in 12 countries, Alison’s 17 years in the wine industry has taken her to places like the Nahe and Rhine River Valleys in Germany, the Alto Adige region in northern Italy, and our very own sister winery, Acacia Vineyards, in the Carneros region of the Napa Valley.
Alison’s travels have given her unique insight into the many winemaking styles of the world in their individual environmental and cultural contexts. This tapestry of experiences makes her more than equipped to tackle an impressive range of varietals from over 125 vineyard blocks that Sterling grows, harvests, and ferments every year. Specializing in red wines, Alison brings energy, passion, and dynamic vision to the winemaking team, helping Sterling’s wines become even more remarkable with each passing vintage.
