Dear Friends,
The 2012 Pinot Noir Cuvée Laurène is here! Produced entirely from our Dundee Hills estate fruit, Laurène is Véronique Drouhin's selection of exceptional barrels. This year is particularly special, given the beauty of the wine and the overwhelming collectability of the vintage. With the holidays coming, there is no better time to order large formats or extra bottles, as gift or cornerstones to your own cellar. Please call or email us soon.
If you haven't had a chance to visit lately, the winery is still buzzing with the 2015 vintage. We've finished picking, and are now watching fermentations closely, to see how the blocks reveal themselves in the process. It wasn't long ago that we were concerned about the early harvest, but today we are simply delighted with the vintage, which is in many ways a repeat of the terrific 2014 vintage. Already, Véronique has ideas about what blocks will go into the 2015 cuvées of Louise and Laurène, but we won't see those wines until 2018.

Veronique's Tasting Notes
"The 2012 Laurène has a lovely, intense, bright ruby color. On the nose, the wine is a vibrant mix of red and black berries, red and black cherries, fresh spice and wild herbs. There is a delicate touch of oak, which integrates nicely. On the palate, the 2012 Laurène is rich, complex and layered, with excellent structure and a beautiful long finish. There is no question that it is a powerful vintage, but there is focus and and a sense of refinement. Overall, I think this Laurène has the energy and definition to age easily for 10 to 15 years." -Véronique Drouhin-Boss
