Experience the Colorful Creations of Vaso Peritos!
Artist and Interior Designer, Vaso Peritos, has re-invented the art of fine wine with her bold, vibrant and impressionistic paintings. Vaso creates a new contemporary look with art that transcends labels and instead asks the individual connoisseur to partake in the still life of a set of bottles and filled wine glasses. Many of her wine-themed paintings, including ones inspired directly by Sterling Vineyards, will be displayed at the winery throughout the month. It is our pleasure to host Vaso's vivacious paintings for a 3rd consecutive year as part of our Art in April exhibition!

Enjoy Penelope Moore's Stunning Still-Life Art!
Penelope's paintings and photography are a reflection of her passion for food, wine and joie de vivre. They are contemporary in style with an emphasis on color, mood and light. A gourmet at heart, Penelope is immersed in an epicurean culture and influenced by her connectedness with the world of wine. Penelope's culinary compositions offer intimate insight into a food and wine lifestyle. Her inspiration begins in social scenes such as restaurants, wine bars, wineries, wine cellars and often simply in the kitchen and around dinner tables with wine, food and friends. Through the use of rich color, dynamic perspective, inviting atmosphere and gourmet subject matter, Penelope's work conveys the essence of a bon vivant lifestyle. Once her inspiration is transformed into colorful still life paintings and photographs her work expresses gratitude, optimism and joy of life.

Before I Die!
Before I Die is an interactive public art project that invites people to share their personal aspirations in public space. Following the devastation of hurricane Katrina, artist Candy Chang painted the side of an abandoned house in New Orleans with chalkboard paint and stenciled it with a grid of the sentence "Before I die I want to _______." Anyone walking by could pick up a piece of chalk, reflect on their lives, and share their personal aspirations in public space. This expressive piece was added as an exhibit for the 2014 Art in April celebration & it remains a well-loved feature of our experience. Sterling is proud to host one of these inspiring walls for guests to share their dreams!

2013 Cellar Club Grenache - Debut Release!
The 2013 Grenache is out debut release of the varietal and it has quickly become a real favorite of our winemaking team. The wine has a brilliant cherry red color with soft tannins and a fruit-forward, lingering finish. Intense aromas of fresh strawberries and cherries are accented by intriguing, almost subliminal rhubarb notes. This intense fruitiness is counter-balanced with vanilla oak making for an impression of strawberry rhubarb pie. Experience this winery-exclusive varietal for yourself today!

Celebrate Earth Day with Sterling Vineyards!
Sterling Vineyards is proud to be a certified Napa County Green Winery, a distinction we achieved in 2009 as one of the first 12 wineries to be included. This certification is a result of our diligent efforts in conserving water and energy, as well as preventing pollution and landfill waste. Every year we recycle approximately 1,400 tons of waste, resulting in a waste diversion rate of 95%. In addition, Sterling is also certified as Napa County Green for our land and vineyard practices, which include sustainable vineyard management, water conservation, and fish-friendly farming across 100% of our estate vineyards.
In December 2008 our iconic tram was converted to solar power. The solar energy system produces more than 100,000 kilowatt-hours per year, which is equivalent to the energy required to power 5.5 homes for a full year. This conversion also eliminates 65 tons of CO2 emitted into the environment annually. From vineyard practices to winery operations to the daily activities at our world-famous tasting rooms, Sterling Vineyards is proud to act as a dedicated steward of our environmental riches. Enjoy panoramic views of the lush Napa Valley from our solar-powered, one-of-a-kind aerial gondola today!
