October Newsletter Updates on the Valley Fire In the past weeks, concerned customers have frequently asked about the Valley Fire and how we here at Sterling have fared. Thankfully, Sterling was not in the path of the fire, our air quality has been good, and harvest has not been significantly affected. Unfortunately, there have been several employees and their families that have been impacted. We are doing everything we can to assist them, from emergency shelter to donating funds and water to the Red Cross. The wine leadership team of Diageo Chateau and Estate Wines has been able to find temporary housing for those in need. Happily, all Diageo employees and their families have been reported safe. In response to the emergency, Diageo Chateau and Estate Wines, in coordination with state emergency management officials and our partners at The Bridge Foundation, dispatched bottled waters for the residents and First Responders in the impacted areas. Given the significant amount of damage and displacement the fires have caused, Diageo has also donated $20,000 from the Diageo Spirit of Americas fund to further support the relief efforts.
